Fórnarlambið er kynnt til leiks og helstu persónur skrifaðar inn í söguna í kringum glæpinn. Hin grunuðu koma svo smám saman inn í myndina ásamt þeim sem leiða rannsóknina og leysa að lokum ráðgátuna.
William Ryan hefur skrifað sex skáldsögur, þar á meðal bókaflokkinn um Captain Korolev sem gerist í Moskvu á fjórða áratug síðustu aldar. Bækurnar hans hafa verið tilnefndar til fjölda verðlauna í Írlandi og Bretlandi og hafa hlotið mikið lof. William hefur einnig gefið út bækur um skapandi skrif og kennt ritlist við háskóla í London og Norwich.

It starts with murder
Irish author William Ryan teaches a workshop that will reveal all the twists and turns of a murder mystery. In two hours, the group will discover a victim, then uncover the suspects and decide on an investigator, before tying it all together into the structure of a crime novel.
William Ryan is the author of six novels, including the Captain Korolev series set in 1930s Moscow and The Constants Soldier. They have been shortlisted for numerious awards, including the Irish Fiction Award, the Theakstons Crime Novel of the Year and the Crime Writer Associations’s Steel, Historical and New Blood Daggers. His latest novel, The Winter Guest, is set in the Irish war of Independence and was described by Ann Cleeves as a “stunning book, beautifully written”.
William is also the author of Writers & Artists Guide to How to Write: How to plan, structure and write a novel (2021) and, with Matthew Hall, of Writing Crime Fiction for Guardian Masterclasses (2015). He has taught creative writing at the University of London as well as regular courses for Writers & Artists and The Irish Writers Centre.
